Eschaton can be used to mod both demo and full maps. It cannot be used to modify the sounds.map or bitmaps.map files. (Note that the ui.map file is treated just like any other playable map, and can therefore be modified.)
That is not at all true. Eschaton can modify bitmap files. Perhaps the person meant it can't directly open a bitmaps.map and sounds.map files?
- Right, I just modified the paragraph. Thanks for clarifying it.

Linking Non-Halo Modding Programs
If anyone is going to link or reference a program helpful to modding but not halo related (say Blender, or the Gimp) then do not assume the version number or the operating system requirements, as they could change in the future, and those authors are obviously not going to come here on this wiki page to edit the changes. For the version and OS requirement fields, just put something along the lines of "See Download Page."
With this said, I think it should also be a given to not upload these kind of applications directly on the wiki too.
This really mainly applies to applications whose authors are not in the modding scene.
I'm just going a list a bunch of applications here that I think are either not really all that, say, useful or that they once were, but have definitely decayed over time. No offense to the authors or anything. If anyone agrees with the way I'm going here, I think maybe we should make such a section?
- Bitmap Internalizer - is this the way modders still internalize bitmaps or through something else? I'm unsure on this one.
- Converted Map Patcher
- Dedicated Server
- Helpful Halo Appies
- Queen Anne's Revenge
- Simpull Teckst
- SparkEdit? (also unsure of this one)
Also, Taxi's gametype pack should be moved to the gametypes database.
