Halo Trial

Halo Trial is very similar to Halo Demo, except that Halo Trial is for the PC. The maps are also the same (studied in Hexedit and proven to be the same). Unmodded Halo PC and Mac maps are also equivalent. The problem with modded Halo PC maps is that the Windows version of HMT (one of the most popular Halo PC tools) modifies Halo PC maps to only work with Windows. A possible reason why they wanted this to happen was because they hate the Macintosh. For most maps, this can be undone by opening the map with Halo Hacking Kit (Demo Hack Halo Trial maps first) and then saving in it.

Halo Trial runs on an earlier build of the Halo engine than Demo, making it impossible to connect between the two, even when using direct IP. Additionally, Trial and Demo connect to different matchmaking servers which means the multiplayer server list that appears inside the Halo Demo game contains only other Halo Demo Mac users. Halo Trial for PC and Halo Demo for Mac cannot play on the same server.

Some mods for Halo Trial don't work on Halo Demo, and vice versa.

Notice that Halo Trial and Halo Demo have different names. Remember that Demo is Mac and Trial is PC.
