Welcome to the Halo Custom Edition (HCE) Database! Here, you will find a comprehensive, alphabetized list of every published map and mod created for Halo Custom Edition for PC. Many of these files can be converted and used in mods for Halo Demo for Mac. Those that cannot be used for this purpose are included for purely educational purposes. (Special thanks to all the members at MGM and HaloMaps.)

• A designation of "CSS" means that joining players do not need the host's map.

This compilation includes all the necessary files to get started, in addition to several helpful applications. Download, place inside your Program Files folder, and be merry! You do not need Halo Full to use this.

The bitmaps.map file contains the images used in the game.

Multiplayer Maps

Single Player Maps

Single player maps are not originally included with Halo Custom Edition.

Sounds

The sounds in the game.

User Interface

The opening menu screen, before loading other map files. After loading a map file (starting a game), the user interface can be modified within the loaded map.

Combo Mods

These mods use multiple files to improve the Halo CE gaming experience. It is generally recommended that you use all of the included files when playing these mods.

Sound Mods

These are either sounds.map files or playable map files that have new sounds and music.

User Interface Mods

These mods change the appearance and functionality of the main user interface, for example, the menu screen you see when you open the application. The UI.map file is used and modified like any other map file.
